Gents, I'm thinking of fitting thicker sway bars as I would like to do an occasional track session. The H&R goodies looks like the stuff to go for. The only problem atm is the price. I would like to do something else in the mean time so my question is this - what is the size of the iS and cabrio sway bars? For some reason I think the cabrio's have the thickest sways, Am I right? Also, is it a straight fit?

Have you been doing any research on these suspension upgrades? Do you know what Ted @ Afrishox charges for H&R sway bars without the reinforcing gussets? Then you would know that this is cheap! Please don`t just post for the sake of posting.

That's insanely cheap! I think we paid R2200 for just the front bar.

I can't remember off hand as I looked this up when I still had the silver BM, but I think the front sway bar on the cabrio was the thickest factory bar, while the rear on the M3/iS was the thickest.

A quick search on R3v should give you your answers.

Thanks Guys. Did some reading on R3v now. Stevin you are correct, cabrio's have the thickest front bars while the M3/iS have the thickest rear bars.

Turbo1, thanks for that. Stevin I seem to remember you saying that your front bar was around 3k so the Turner set really is cheap.

Here is a list that I copied from R3v.

That doesn't seem correct, as I distinctly remember the M3 bar is thicker than a regular 325i bar.

Stevin, I checked on e30tech and another site where the guy converted to 5 lug. It would seem that 19mm is correct. He mentioned that the reason why a M3 can get away with using a thinner bar is because it has different mounting points which provides more leverage.
