325Is Vin And Engine Number

Howzit guys if the cars vin starts with oaf and the engine num starts with 276 is that a 325is evo2?

Evo1 - OAF
Evo2 - OEJ

The owner says its a 1992.. Thought that only evo2 came out that time.. What else should i check to verify? My hopes of getting this car is slowly dying..

Doors, fenders, alpina computer box etc...

above the engine number it will state 2.7 6k,it will have plastic kit, alpina afm,check identification/spec tag,you should take the chasis number down and call a BMW dealership and they will confirm with you.

EVO 1-Plastic airbox-no alpina stamp on the airflow meter.

EVO 11-Metal airbox -with red and black alpina stamp on airflow meter.

there is a tag on the right hand side of the engine bay

EVO I- 325is/2

EVO 11-325is EVO HP

instrument cluster:

EVO 1-Stamped MOTORMETER

EVO 11 - STAMPED VDO

No! All SA IS's were 5 lug/stud.

Ok from the pics and the seller, the car is a 5 lug/stud, the vin starts with OAF which is evo1? but its a 1992 model thought only evo2 came out then? the engine number starts with 27 meaning 2.7L which is the evo2? what else can i check? thanx for your patients guys cause i must sound irritating

Evo 1 and Evo 2 were both 2.7l.

The difference was in power...

Evo1 - 145kw

Evo2 - 155kw (because it came with Alpina bits).



It could have been bought in 1991 and registered in 1992.

My car is registered as a '87 model but BMW's records shows that it was produced in '86

there were actually two evo 2s produced with OAF vin nos.

evo 2 are:

OEJ94033 onwards
OAF45408
OAF45355
OEJ94025
OEJ94027 to OEJ94031


i have attached the deviation parts list where this info comes from.

heres the vin num of the car OAF44766 if anyone can help tell me what evo is that? the thing is that it doesnt have the rear headrests or the holes for them so im confused
