My 323i sounds a bit rough over 3500rpm. I suspect that it may be engine mounts. Any suggestions of where I can look? The car used to be a super quiet cruiser - and suddenly she is a bit rough at the edged.
Help will be appreciated.

i dont think engine mounts are you problem, engine mounts will cause jerkings when you pull off from a stand still, have a look at the mounting from the top and see if the upper disc is aligned with the rubber itself, often they will be misaligned if they are broken.
i would also have a look at the afm and the coolant temp switch and fuel pressure.
