After taking the ecu out. Doing a prayer and some fiddling, the ecu is now working again. So back to my original problem. Still no power to the fuel pump. Tested the wire at the fuel pump while ignition is on and there is no power. Tried the suggestion again from Quintt, bridged 86 and 87 and tried to start and still nothing. Am I missing anything?

No i am in cape town :(
Yesterday i decided to do the wire checks as mentioned and yes now i am getting cluster lights and ignition, but when i plug the ECU in i do not get anything, is there a fuse for the ECU or a relay for the ECU that i can check?
I have checked the fuses already and all of them are working, the main relay(the one next to the fuel relay) is working. the ECU connection wire, i checked for ground, live ignition etc and all are working, have i missed something?

Pm me your number and ill call you

85 is a low level earth from the ECU, what you actually need to do is bridge the 30 and 87 and check if the fuel pump then runs. 30 is battery volt +. 87 is the output, so it puts out whatever is connected to 30. 85 is the control circuit from the ECU and 86 is the positive to complete the circuit(from fusebox). Terminal 85 is not intended to carry current, and besides that, its a negative signal. the pump needs a positive signal to the 87.

Thanks @Quint for the call and the assistance.
So on other things i needed to do, i have been struggling with my Airflow meter from the time i bought the car, took it to a BMW Machi to test it and try and tune it. he cleaned it and did the best he could but advised that the AFM needed to be replaced, found a good second hand one, but it was from a 535 so my car would cut out and not idle or rev up smoothly.
been looking for a while to find a good second hand AFM but decided to bite the bullet and get a management system.
I opted for the Spitstronic Saturn Advanced kit.
Have any of you guys worked with these kits, from what i have read on here the Spitstronic management is the way to go.

so after about 3 weeks of trying to sort out the issue, finally striped out the entire loom, and did a rewire.
fitted the management system on and finally last night started her up and took her for a drive. :whoohoo:
with the rewire and management the AFM and ICV was also deleted, i must say she is sounding so much better and breathing a lot better

next up on the list will be changing shocks, all 4, new control arms, struts, bushes, CV's

After that will need to find a nice pair of 14 or 15 inch mags for my ride. i currently have 18' on but wanting to sell them/ swap for a smaller mag.

What do you guy think, should I keep the 18 inch mags I currently have on the car or should I go back to stock. Reason I ask is 1 day I want the 18's and the next I want the stock ones. Thoughts?

I have finally managed to sort out the suspension. 4 new shocks, tie rods and she is sitting and driving awesome.

Also was nice to meet a fellow e30 member.

Now on to the paint. Anyone know of a good place in the Cape for respray?

What shocks you used? Does the car have lowered springs?

I used Gabriel shocks.
Back springs is stock but front the previous owner cut. So will be getting stock front springs. I must say the ride is so much better..
