thanks for the feedback.

@ron_g - drop me a line with which products these were - We do try to keep our website, adverts & store prices as accurate as possible. Recently with the sharp decline in our rand value, many print adverts for december/jan (which have to be submitted during october & early nov) had alot older pricing.

@cdh-335i
agreed - although its our policy to take complaints seriously. With the customer as well as with our team. its not uncommon for the owners to call clients at 8 or 9pm in the evening to resolve issues to do an emergency delivery due to our mishap in shipping.

What i do find frustrating with Hennie's mindset: - yes i agree we lost the customer, i agree he will never shop by us, i'll even agree that he can tell the world of his bad experience, but if you're going to do that, at least give the full story, the effort i have put in trying to rectify things.

As i said, we'r open to all complaints, suggestions, critisms etc. Nobody is perfect and no business is perfect. All the books, processes, technology, consultants in the world

@vorsprung what did you rectify. your salesman gave your company image a beating. as i said to you in my e mail to you what if i tried to warn your staff that armed robbers is waiting for them to come out ?????
or the building is on fire ?????
your salesman lost you a definite sale of R4000 from me as you had the set of rims i was interested in
there is nothing that you can do that will rectify the treatment your staff member gave me. it cant be undone
unfortunately for you your staffs bad manners is now out in the open and its up to you to make sure that none of your costumers get the same treatment ever again

ron_g I experienced that too
i once needed a converter for RCA's as i wanted to keep the standard deck in my car
I foned and I was told it is R30 and they have 40 in Stock I foned at about 15:30
Left work at 16:00 got there at 16:30 the guy said they are sold out but they have 1 for R120
Anyway I laughed and just bought the thing, anyway these things happen
I would still go to Autostyle because of their variety as I wouldn't take to heart
1 dumbfvck who is lazy and not willing to do his job.

Thats my 2c

Vorsprung - I really have to comp you on the effort you are making to resolve these issues..very few retail chains go to this extent!!

HOWEVER...i had the exact same issue a little while back with Autostyle Jhb , Autostyle advertised a price , yet never honoured it when i got there - even though you are obliged to in some way. As much as I can understand that the ROE plays a huge factor in your business , I cannot seem to understand why an organisation such as Autostyle does not look at a foward cover option or perhaps even a ROE stake?? Surely this needs to be taken into consideration when you guys go to print on your ad's? If not is it not only fair to the consumer you honour the price you ADVERTISED at?? If not , Autostyle is therefore falsely advertising??

by law one can insist on the advertised price and if a company don't want to give it to you for the price you can report them to the consumer council who will give them hell
but one must check their ad carefully and if you see e&oe anywhere on the ad it means they dont have to give it for that price
that e&oe stands for errors and omissions excluded All this e&oe means is one can falsely advertise and get away with it
Advertising is just to get you to come to a shop with them hoping that the disappointment of not getting what you came for will make you get something else that will satisfy you

my last word on this. autostyle will not EVER get any business from me ever again and ill advise anybody that ask me about them to avoid using them . there is other places that stock the same goodies

Hi Hennie,
I,too, had very kak service from Auotostyle here in Durban a few months back, when I wanted to fit some Merit Racing wheels to my Bantam bakkie.
The oke that answered the fone was totally disinterested in my business,& just said that they dont carry these wheels in Durban.
What a wanker !!
I have now bought a 325i & want to fit some wheels, but, quess what,I wont be calling Auotostyle !!!
Brian.

Autostyle DBN generally has bad service and the quality of their stuff isn't all that great. I’ve had way better service from MAX I rather go there, even though they are more expensive. My advice : provide your staff with proper training, test them, if the monkeys don’t pass fire them!

Hmmm.. With autostyle jhb i havent had much dealings, but autostyle dbn was outstanding. The once i spoke with Ebrahim who was absolutely fantastic. He explained to me in detail the pros and cons of certain head units i was interested in. He was not rude in anyway and i will certainly do business their again. Infact i get my parts from autostyle dbn due to their service even though i live in jhb. However with regard to their structuring i advise a relook and perhaps a more structured way of dealing with clients.. The current informal method of service delivery works at times but leaves many disgruntled as well. From my side big ups to autostyle dbn:).

Vorsprung- i must commend you on your efforts and because of this will remain a customer...

I personally haven’t had any bad times with autostyle... but i must say that I can understand where hennie n the other guys r coming from... if i was in that situation i would have reacted in the same way... For your sake Vorsprung pls try your best to advertise correctly and train and test your staff... as sometimes as much as you try you cant rectify a bad experience...if you are submitting ads in advanced take out some sort of cover to make sure that prices are the same... as far as staff go well good luck i think every1 in retail or service orientated businesses will agree you cant always have the best but instead of so much damage control put that effort towards getting the service you require out of your staff n you should b on your way...
